Where to find the model number on a GE appliance
GE has a locator page for each product. For example: inside the fresh food compartment of side-by-side refrigerators, near the top of the side wall; on the left or right front inside edge of dishwashers, or the right side edge of the door; behind the oven door on the front frame of ranges (on electric coil models, also under the left front element); and inside the door on the wash compartment face of front-load washers.
GE support topics worth checking first
GE’s own troubleshooting covers the checks to try before booking. For an electric dryer that runs but does not heat, it starts with the 240-volt supply and the breaker, then settings and airflow. For a refrigerator that is not cooling enough, it walks through settings, condenser cleanliness and airflow. For an ice maker that is not producing, it lists temperature settings, a clogged filter and blocked molds.

The GE JP3030 cooktop recall
On November 30, 2023, the CPSC announced GE Appliances’ recall of about 11,000 JP3030 knob-control electric radiant cooktops (models JP3030DJ4BB, JP3030SJ4SS and JP3030TJ4WW) sold from July 2022 through 2023, because the burners can stay on after being turned off. GE installs a replacement knob assembly free.
